My Side of the Mountain
I don't recall reading the trilogy but I remember this story with fondness. I recently told a friend that it was called "The Other Side of the Mountain." I was wrong--silly me! For a good plot summary, wikipedia has all the information.
Synopsis
In 1959, Jean Craighead George published My Side of the Mountain. This coming-of-age story about a boy and his falcon went on to win a Newbery Honor, and for the past forty years has enthralled and entertained generations of would-be Sam Gribleys. The two books that followed—On the Far Side of the Mountain and Frightful's Mountain—were equally extraordinary.
Wikipedia has more information on this book and the corresponding film.

My favorite worship artist from my church is Brad Kilman. There are many who capture my heart well but Brad tops the personal fave list. I can tell he's not afraid to hang out with God in front of a lot of people. He's not there to get through a song.
Way to go Brad!
Google has a free 411 service that's free to call. Call the toll-free number and speak with a easy-to-understand computer voice to find business telephone numbers, addresses. Once you get the details you'd like, you can have Goog-411 send the details as a text message to your cell phone (you have to call from a cell for this to work); Goog-411 can also dial the number for you so you don't have to try to write it down, a nice feature if you a driving!
There is no charge for this service until you ask to be connected. I don't know how they establish the charge from there and I haven't looked on my bill to see if it is even listed.
This a great ad-free service (to date) for looking up business numbers and locations while on my cell phone; I don't have to give $1.50 to my cell phone company either!
I particularly enjoyed the subway system in DC. It was very clean and thoughtfully built. You have to keep in mind that I'm enjoy architecture.
My experience in our nation's capital was not as enjoyable as I would have wanted it to be. I'm not much of a history buff plus I did not know what all was available in the district. I prefer exploring but didn't realize where all the action was there.
From the pics, you'll see I found my way to the Arlington National Cemetery, some sites along the Mall and on my last day there I found the free Smithsonian museums.
One place I had no photos of was the International Spy Museum. That was a treat I enjoyed very much. From DC, I traveled by Amtrak to North Carolina. This venture was by far the most pleasurable part of my vacation in 2003!

What's happening in our inner city is exciting right now.
A youth pastor from California came to Oklahoma City check out a property he owned only to find out it had squatters in it. The squatters ranged from gangs to drug makers/dealers/users to prostitutes and hustlers.
Over the past few months he took back his property and is turning it into a ministry for the homeless. Many people are helping to get this place cleaned up and ready for ministry.
The youth pastor's refuge blog is continually updated with cool information.

I've done all sorts of interesting things working with The Well, and last week I had the opportunity to direct a fashion photo shoot for our narimon brand, which we're beginning to use for our products. The name comes from a Thai word meaning ‘pure’, ‘immaculate’, ‘flawless’, ‘virgin’, ‘innocent’, ‘spotless’, ‘stainless’, ‘queen’, ‘fair maiden’, ‘beautiful girl’. We're hoping to launch a web site within a couple of weeks. Photographer Paul Cypert did a nice job, and our women were quite stunning, especially since I knew their stories. Here are a couple of samples, and I've put up a very rough site landing page at narimon.org.
