I've read the first couple of chapters of Why We're Not Emergent (because that's all that was available on its website for free... he, he), and I'd really like to finish the book. Not having heard much about the emergent church, funny since I've been attending what would probably be considered and emerging church for a few years now, or the idea of postmodernism, much less the idea of postmodern Christianity, until just a few months ago, as I'm learning about it, I find a of lot the teachings of the nonmovement's movement's pastors like Mclaren and Pagitt really disturb me. I think they've actually fallen into error.
Now, I won't follow 'the two guys' who wrote this book unquestioningly. I recognize that I will probably disagre with a few things they wrtie as well, but I think they are fairly right on in the two chapters I've read so far.
I've never heard of Do Hard Things, but I like the part of the title, A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations.

I appreciate your thoughtful comment. I didn't know I was attending an emerging church until Guit said something about it less than a year ago!
I may just have to buy this book.
